Tips for Employers
Did you know that you may be eligible for tax credits if you hire
workers who are disabled or have been on welfare? A Career Center employment specialist
can give you more details and help you determine if you qualify.
Did you know that when you interview prospective employees you may not
ask about marital status, children, child care arrangements, sexual orientation or if they
have a disability?
When you call the Career Center to fill your employment needs you will
get highly personalized assistance and help in determining how to describe the essential
functions of your positions.
Did you know that hiring a disabled individual will not affect your
insurance?
Did you know that dates of Jewish Holidays are set
according to the Hebrew lunar calendar and that they begin at sundown on the preceding
evening and conclude on the dates noted in the table below? The Sabbath begins at sunset
on Friday evening and concludes at sunset on Saturday. During these observances, work is
traditionally prohibited. As a result, Jewish individuals may be absent from both school
and places of employment.
